As a Harvard graduate and award-winning writer, I've spent over a decade in admissions consulting, helping students craft standout admissions profiles and earn offers from top Ivy League and state schools. Along the way, I've learned that no two students are alike, and the strongest applications are the ones that sound unmistakably like the person behind them.

But the best outcomes don't come from chasing a name, they come from finding the schools where a student will genuinely thrive, then building an application that gets them in.

For most of that decade the limit on this work was me — how many students I could read closely before the reading got thinner. So I stopped treating my judgment as something that lived in my head and started writing it down: what a real spike looks like, when a draft is working, which risks are worth taking, when a school does not belong on a list. That standard is now explicit enough to run continuously, on every student, without me in the room. I review the analysis and I sign every plan. What I no longer do is ration attention — and no student's application is thinner because someone else booked the hour first.
